Project Ligtas Sunog

A 3D story-driven fire safety simulation that puts players in the role of a firefighter — combining education, immersive gameplay, and real emergency protocols in one platform.

The Platform

A Digital Tool That Complements Traditional Fire Safety Education

While traditional fire safety seminars and lectures remain active, Project Ligtas Sunog addresses the need for a more engaging, practical approach. This web platform paired with a desktop simulation game serves as "dagdag kaalaman" — supplemental knowledge that helps students and the youth better retain basic life-saving skills.

By providing a risk-free digital environment, the project allows users to practice emergency protocols, operate firefighting tools virtually, and navigate real rescue scenarios — all without real-world danger.

"Rather than replacing formal training, this story-driven experience focuses on reinforcing basic life-saving skills through active participation in a risk-free, digital environment."

Meet Cooper — The Anchor

Cooper wasn't just a firefighter — he was an institution. Respected, relentless, and always the first man ready to charge into the smoke. Known as "The Anchor", he was always ready to help and execute a rescue.

But behind the hero, a void persisted. Cooper had lost his memory since a devastating incident that took his parents' lives when he was a child. He grew into a disciplined, selfless man — a decorated firefighter and an On-Point (OP) asset to his team — alongside his best friend, Anthony.

During the Final Act — a massive warehouse fire — Cooper froze mid-battle, trapped in a flashback at the heart of the inferno. Anthony's roar broke through. Cooper snapped back, and in that moment, he wasn't just fighting the fire. He was fighting the memory, embracing the chaos, and confronting the truth of what he had survived.

"I don't remember. The memory is gone. But I have this recurring dream... I'm in a dark forest. I see them walking away. And then I know I've been saved."

"Cooper! Snap out of it!"

Before, During & After

Each level is structured around the three critical stages of a fire emergency — prevention, active response, and safe evacuation.

Timed Scenarios

Every level runs on a countdown. React quickly — the longer you wait, the more the fire spreads and the lower your score.

Performance Badge System

Earn level-specific badges: Fire Captain (excellence), Veteran (proficiency), or Newbie (basic completion) based on time and accuracy.

Interactive Firefighting Tools

Virtually operate extinguishers, water hoses, axes, and crowbars guided by step-by-step in-game objectives and animations.

NPC Rescue Missions

Locate and rescue trapped NPCs in each scenario. Successful rescues contribute to your accuracy score and badge rating.

Cinematic Animations

Story-driven cutscenes and guided animations demonstrate proper emergency tool operation in a structured, engaging way.

Performance Badges
🏆
Fire Captain

Excellence — fastest completion, full accuracy, all NPCs rescued.

🎖️
Veteran

Proficiency — solid performance with minor time or accuracy loss.

🔰
Newbie

Basic completion — level finished but with significant room to improve.

What Drives Us

Our Core Values

Every feature, every level, and every design decision in Project Ligtas Sunog is guided by these principles.

Supplemental Education

Project Ligtas Sunog is not a replacement for formal fire safety training. It is "dagdag kaalaman" — a supplemental tool that reinforces foundational knowledge through an engaging, learn-by-doing digital experience.

Learning by Doing

Passive reading doesn't build muscle memory. By virtually operating extinguishers, axes, and hoses in timed emergency scenarios, players develop practical familiarity with tools and protocols they may one day need.

Risk-Free Practice

Real fire emergencies leave no room for mistakes. Our simulation provides a safe, pressure-controlled environment where students can attempt, fail, retry, and ultimately master correct emergency responses without consequence.

Engagement Through Play

Serious games outperform static materials in retention. By framing fire safety within a story-driven narrative — Cooper's journey — the game connects emotionally, making learning memorable and meaningful.

Youth & Community Focus

The project is designed primarily for students and young Filipinos. Accessible on a desktop, straightforward to play, and free to download — no barriers between the youth and lifesaving knowledge.

Inspiring Future Developers

Beyond its immediate audience, the project aims to inspire researchers and developers to create more meaningful serious games that raise awareness, change behavior, and ultimately help save lives through active participation.
